12 Beautiful Spring Scenes From Tenerife
They say Columbus called Tenerife the island of eternal spring. With its pleasantly warm, but not too hot weather all year, with some wind and veil clouds often in the sky, it definitely is. Moreover, we actually visited it in March and April, so we could enjoy wonderful spring wildflowers wherever we went. On the coast, in Teide National Park, Corona Forestal or lush green Anaga and Teno Rural Parks.
We think spring is probably the best season for hiking in Tenerife, and this post is to celebrate the spring beauty of this amazing island.
And what else to show first but flowering cacti? This one was shot on the trail leading out of Punta del Hidalgo in Anaga Rural Park:
Anaga Rural Park is the rainiest area in Tenerife, by the way, but who cares when it’s so lush green, full of colorful flower fields and coastal views?
This perfect little beauty was shot right after a quick shower on the Roque de Taborno Circuit Trail:
While Anaga is in the north, the other lush green rural park with its high cliffs and deep valleys is in the south: Teno Rural Park.
Teide National Park with its 3715 meters high volcano has a continental-high mountain climate as opposed to the subtropical climate of the coast. It means four seasons and quite a proper spring:
And the only place we’ve seen these vibrant orange poppies that looked exactly like California poppies was Corona Forestal Natural Park:
