Are you planning to visit tiny, but wonderful Slovenia? Do you want to see the best of “New Zealand in Europe” as it is referred sometimes? We can help you in that.
Being one of our neighboring countries, we’ve been to Slovenia several times throughout the years – for a weekend getaway or for a two weeks road trip, and anything else in between. We’ve found new places to fall for on each of our visits. Just scroll below to see our tips and guides that help you fall in love with magical Slovenia, too.

Best time to visit Slovenia
Slovenia might be small, but it has three different climates: Mediterranean on the coast, high mountain climate in the Alps, and continental climate otherwise. Mediterranean summers are warm and sunny, winters are relatively mild. In the high mountains, winter brings freezing temperatures and lots of snow, summers are pleasant, often sunny, with occasional thunderstorms. And continental climate also brings warm summers and cold winters.
Jun-Aug
HIGH SEASON
Beach weather on the coast, hiking season in the Alps and school holidays make the summer busy and expensive.
April – May & Sept – Oct
SHOULDER SEASON
Weather is fairly good, and the number of visitors is lower. This is probably the best time for sightseeing.
Nov – March
HIGH SEASON FOR SKIING
Though cold winter is low season in general, ski resorts are busy this time of the year. The road through Vršič Pass is usually closed in the winter months.

We’ve been travelling together for more than 8 years, and our baby boy who was born last year also joined us on our adventures. We have extensively travelled throughout Europe and the USA, especially California. We’ve had a wonderful campervan trip in Australia where we dream to return.
We will continue to explore Europe, but we’d also like to visit more places in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Asia in the following years.
We can’t wait to share our favorite adventures along the way.
