Monthly Recap: May 2019

We spent most of May on the road. Starting with an awesome road trip in a new-to-us region of Czechia, then continuing with a new-to-us country, Ireland. We fell in love with both, even though the weather we got was far from perfect (what is perfect Irish weather, by the way?). We spent most of our two weeks road trip along the ocean coast in Ireland and Northern Ireland, hiking a lot, exploring all the national parks and some awesome ancient ruins and mansions.
Except that the whole month is a highlight, here comes the highlights… 🙂
Highlights
The historical center of Český Krumlov. It’s one of the most intact, fairy tale old towns in Europe! We liked it even more than Prague, especially with all the other amazing places this region offers. We’ve just published our detailed itinerary for South Bohemia – read it here.
We have a new favorite castle in Eastern Europe: Hluboká nad Vltavou Castle. Another gem from our South Bohemian road trip.
Ireland! The lush green landscapes, the dramatic coastal hikes, the ancient ruins and the beautiful castles that are all in such a perfect harmony with nature. We can’t wait writing more about this trip so stay tuned for a lot of new posts about Ireland soon.
Our little boy. Though he’s not an event, he’s a source of great joy to us constantly. I’m at the end of the second trimester, and he’s growing fast and is kicking happily.

Coming up in June
Another wedding is coming up in June! Our dear friends are getting married in Szeged, my lovely hometown.
Beside this cheerful event, we mostly plan for shorter getaways on a whim to Austria, Slovakia or Romania. Some sightseeing, maybe some light hiking that fits to my growing tummy. June is my seventh month, and now our focus really shifts to the new kind of adventure that awaits. Time just flies and we’re going to be three really soon. 🙂
How about you? How was your May? What are your plans for the next month?
