Monthly Recap: June 2019

Monthly Recap: June 2019

We said goodbye to Ireland in the beginning of June. We also said goodbye to hiking for a while.

After a lovely hiking getaway to Slovakia’s Fatras, I realized that in my seventh month of pregnancy, I’m not just incredibly slow, but I also couldn’t really enjoy conquering mountain peaks anymore. Not that it’s shocking, we were expecting this, we just didn’t know the exact time. Well, it was time.

Still, we both enjoyed June and we’re looking forward to lots of special moments in July.

June 2019: Sokolie, Little Fatra, Slovakia

Hiking to Sokolie in Little Fatra. We like Little Fatra. It’s a barely known and beautiful hiking getaway that’s so close to our home. Though this new hike we found was tough – okay, it was tough for me, not for Csaba -, it became another new favorite. The rock formations and the views are amazing all the way!

June 2019: Great Fatra, Slovakia

Wildflowers in Slovakia’s Fatras. Though spring is well over in Eastern Europe by now, it’s still wildflower time at higher elevations. The huge meadows of the Fatras were so colorful, and we could never get bored of that – nor photographing wildflowers. 🙂

Enjoying summer in Hungary. June was sunny and hot in Hungary (with occasional storms and hailstorms…), and we love summer! On one of these nice summer days was the wedding day of our dear friends – it was beautiful and took place in Szeged, my pretty home town. Anyway, wearing flip-flops, eating lots of ice-cream and meeting with friends were the simple pleasures of June.

Coming up in July

Great Fatra, Slovakia

My 30th birthday will be in July. While we usually celebrate our birthdays with at least a lovely weekend getaway, I’m not sure whether we go anywhere this time. I’m in my eight month, and it just feels hard to do anything. My tummy is so big now that even tying my shoes is a challenge. 😛 Not that this is a bad thing. Because it means that our son is growing and he’ll soon be ready to born.

So, honestly, we have no idea what this July brings. But we are ready to embrace it. 🙂

How about you? How was your June? What are your plans for the next month?
