Monthly Recap: July 2019

July was typically hot and sunny, with lots of short trips, lots of get-togethers with friends and family, and lots of ice-cream.

We don’t count the months by their name anymore, we count them compared to Bea’s due date with our baby. In her eighth month, July, challenging hikes and longer trips were out of the question. And by challenging, we mean that there’s more than 200 metres elevation gain. By long trip, we mean it takes more than 3 hours to get there. It’s strange to us, too, but pregnancy is a big change – preparing us for an even bigger one. 😀

Highlights

Bea’s 30th birthday! A surprise party with our friends in Budapest.

July 2019: Vienna, Austria

A weekend getaway to Vienna. Vienna is our city of love. It was our first self-organized trip abroad. It’s the place where we got engaged. And it’s the place we return to each year. This time we did a nice scenic drive in nearby Wachau Valley, too, and visited Melk Abbey, a world famous Baroque structure standing proud above River Danube.

July 2019: Waterfall in the Buda Hills, Hungary

Hiking in Buda Hills and Börzsöny Mountains. Even though her tummy feels really heavy now, Bea still likes hiking (well, on easy terrain, very easy… 😀 ) and spending time in nature. So we explored some short and pretty walking trails close to Budapest.

Coming up in August

July 2019: Börzsöny Mountains, Hungary

So that due date we mentioned is in the very beginning of September. Maybe it will be a bit earlier, maybe a bit later. In any case, we need to be prepared. So there are no other plans for August. But we hope to have some time to write new posts, like sharing more about our travels in Ireland or Bea’s experience about travelling during pregnancy.

How about you? How was your July? What are your plans for the next month?
