Monthly Recap: August 2017

We’ve spent more than half of our August in Iceland and it was the very best trip we’ve had in a long time! First, it lasted for more than two weeks – a good start. Second, it took place in Iceland – that’s enough to make it perfect. We are all for nature and the serenity, beauty and variety it offers and Iceland is richly blessed with that. Third, we had fabulous weather – a lot of sunshine and very little rain only to showcase one of the prettiest rainbows we’ve seen in our lives.

The only bad thing about Iceland was leaving. (Our purse was happier than us though…) Getting back from such a great trip causes the worst post-travel blues. Luckily, we took so many pictures and videos that it will really take time to process all of them – and that will be time that takes us back to Iceland at least in our heads. We also plan to write tons of posts about the places we explored. So no final goodbye to Iceland. The places we love so much have their own place in our hearts anyway. 😀

Iceland. The powerful, beautiful waterfalls. The huge waves. The beaches. The canyons. The snowcapped volcanoes. The glaciers. The hot pools. The lava fields. The Highlands. The Westfjords. The sheep. Wild and unspoilt and wonderful nature.

Coming up in September

There’s another thing that can cheer us up now that we are back from Iceland: we should soon start packing for Portugal! Because half of our September will be spent there, exploring its cool capital, fairytale castles and stunning beaches. At least we think so. Anyway, if you know amazing places in the Southern part of Portugal, don’t hesitate to share them in the comments. 😉
