Monthly Recap: April 2019

So April has passed. With Csaba’s 30th birthday, with our dear friends’ wedding, there was a lot of time spent with family and friends. Though we also planned some sightseeing in the lovely town of Gyula after this wedding, all what we’ve done finally was eating a good fat (and delicious!) hamburger, because it was raining all weekend.

But we spent a wonderful sunny long weekend in Romania’s Carpathians at Easter…

April 2019: Apuseni Mountains, Romania

Crocuses on Padiș Plateau in Transylvania’s Apuseni Mountains. Millions of crocuses that made the meadows look purple. Our timing was great (yeah, it happens sometimes), the weather was mostly sunny and we’ve seen the most wonderful early spring alpine meadows ever in our lives. While we mostly hiked in snow. Transylvania, your mountains impressed us again.

April 2019: Cascada Bulbuci, Apuseni Mountains, Romania

Waterfall hunt in the Apuseni Mountains. If crocuses wouldn’t have been enough, waterfalls also impressed. No wonder, this long weekend was our favorite in April – wildflowers, waterfalls, mountains and sunshine, could you ask for more? 🙂

Coming up in May

We’ve just left for another fabulous long weekend road trip, this time to Czechia. The fairy tale old town of Český Krumlov, several romantic castles and pretty trails of Šumava National Park are waiting for us!

By the time we get home, we should start packing for Ireland. It will be a two weeks road trip at the end of May-beginning of June. A new-to-us country, castles, ancient ruins, lush green hills and ocean coast. We already love it. 😀 Do you have recommendations which places to visit or which hikes to do? Don’t hesitate to share them in the comments!

Ireland will be our last longer trip this year, because another kind of adventure awaits. Tadam… the big announcement:

April 2019: Apuseni Mountains, Romania

This is Bea in her fifth month of pregnancy – with Apuseni Mountains in the background. We are so happy and excited – and worried, too (is it a parent thing?). It has begun. 🙂

How about you? How was your April? What are your plans for the next month?
