So we’ve been to Australia. We didn’t dare to believe it’s happening. Not until we were over that 20+ hours long flight to Melbourne. Not until we’ve seen the giant waves along the Great Ocean Road for the first time. Not until we meet the first shy kangaroo in Great Otway National Park.
We’ve actually spent almost the full month of April in Australia, living in a campervan. Getting back only a couple of days ago, we are still struggling to find words – and struggling with the post-holiday blues, as well. But once we found those words, you can be sure that countless posts will come about Australia – useful, funny, beautiful and cute (because it’s home to so many cute creatures – in addition to the dangerous ones). For now, we just try to make peace with the fact that we won’t bump into any more kangaroos soon.
Australia. Because it’s unique and beautiful. The beaches. The plants. The animals. The rainforests. The Great Barrier Reef. Sydney. Campervan life. Australia is also full of the unexpected. It overwhelms you and makes you a different person.
Australia. Though our time in Australia was wonderful (for the most part), it was also one of our most challenging trips ever. Not because of spiders. Or snakes. Or sharks. Or crocodiles. But because our Jucy campervan broke down twice during the trip – both times so badly that we were not able to drive it anywhere anymore. Another story to be told.

Coming up in May
By the time we got back from sunny Australia, spring has been already in full bloom in Hungary and that means one important thing: hiking! We have quite some hikes planned in Hungary, Austria and Slovakia for this spring and summer. We are eager to visit our beloved national parks again: the High Tatras, Slovak Paradise or Little Fatra. And we are eager to find new favorites.
Oh, Australia, one thing is for sure, you won’t have a match…
