Liebster Award: Our Wanders

Tadaaa! Super exciting announcement coming… At least, it’s super exciting for us, because we have started this blog more than half year ago and we’ve just got our first award! Thanks so much, ta ta, cheers! for nominating us for the Liebster Award.

What is it about? Liebster Award is for new blogs to gain some recognition for their hard work and awesome content. If you accept the award, you then answer 11 questions from the blog who nominated you. You also nominate 5-11 blogs and figure out 11 questions for them so they can share their views and experiences about travelling/blogging.

So here are our questions from ta ta, cheers!

What is your favorite continent/region to travel to? Why?
The forever though question and the forever boring answer: we don’t know, it’s always the place where we travel next. However the national and state parks of the United States will always have their special place in our hearts. They were the first places where we have travelled frequently together, their beauty and variety amazed us and they inspired us to never stop searching for the beauties in this world.

Do your friends travel like you do, or are they travel bloggers?
We don’t have travel blogger friends (yet 🙂 ) and we are probably the most addicted to travelling among our friends, so we are the ones who travel the most frequently. And we are very grateful that we can.

What’s your favorite aspect of having a travel blog?
It’s a bit different for the two of us. Bea is the more active on the blog, she passionately loves writing and photography and she would most probably write those stories even if no one would read them. Csaba is more behind the invisible background work. But travelling and sharing our stories are common passions and we both love interacting with readers! Every comment on our posts makes us smile and we hope it won’t change even if we will get much more comments in the future.

What country is at the top of your travel bucket list? Why?
Iceland is our relatively new dream, but it got to the top of our bucket list quite fast. The wild, untouched, beautiful nature seems like a hiker’s paradise and we can’t wait to explore! Hopefully within a year.

What’s the best food you’ve had while traveling?
Hm, honestly, we are not really foodies. When we travel we usually save money on accommodation and food which means eating the simplest and cheapest food what we find. But that is not nearly as bad as it may sound, because cheap street food could be quite delicious. Zapiekanka from Poland is one of our favorites, it’s a sandwich made of half of a baguette topped with some kind of sauce and mushrooms, cheese and other ingredients of your choice.

What’s the one thing you can’t travel without? Why?
Each other. 🙂 But if we consider travel gear, it’s definitely our camera! We love taking pictures, that’s part of our travel experience and not just because of our blog. It’s an older love, we’ve always had our best shots printed out and put into that old traditional kind of photo album or created a photo book from them.

Do you travel non-stop, or do you have a home base and travel from there?
We both have full-time jobs and we travel when we have the time and the money to do so. We take advantage of all of our holidays and we also go on weekend trips quite frequently. Currently, our home is in Budapest, Hungary.

Which social media site is your favorite to advertise your blog? Why?
Pinterest is the winner, it’s by far the most effective social media to bring visitors to our blog. We also like using it for travel planning, so we have massive collections of travel guides and articles.

What are your hobbies (other than traveling)?
We both love hiking, skiing, cooking and reading. We sometimes read books together which seemed a bit weird when we tried it first. But it quickly became so natural as watching a movie together and we like doing it when a book interests both of us.

Would you rather travel to a tropical paradise or a mountainous wonderland?
Probably to a mountainous wonderland as we love hiking so much! But one of our favorite places in the world is Kauai, the oldest of the Hawaiian islands where we have found both our tropical paradise and mountainous wonderland when hiking along Na Pali Coast.

Why do you love to travel?
The world is too beautiful to not discover whatever we can! Our adventures together have given us a strong bond, they widened our view and they are constantly changing our personality. The things we have experienced are part of us now and we have became braver, more open and even more curious about everything. Travel showed us that people are good in general and though we are all different in a lot of aspects, in the end we are still quite similar: majority of the people just want to live in peace and happiness surrounded by their loved ones.

  1. Bea, Csaba – I just left a very long comment on how much I love your blog and then the damn Internet went offline the moment I hit post comment… argh!

Anyway, I couldn’t find a comment section on your about page, so just wanted to let you know I love what you guys are doing. I could spend hours on here. Hubs and I are huge Nature Lovers as well. I don’t think we have ever been on a vacation without visiting some sort of natural attraction or Park (mostly within Europe) 🙂 In late summer we’re moving to the States and seeing the beautiful photography on here I just can’t wait. So much adventure is waiting out there 🙂

I followed on Facebook. Please let me know when you guys set up a Newsletter. I definitely have to be on that one 😉
