Czech Republic Travel

Looking for the best places to visit in the Czech Republic? Want to know all the insider tips and visit places off the beaten track?

Living in Central Europe (Hungary, in particular), we took lots of shorter and longer road trips in the Czech Republic. We’re obsessed with Prague, and even more obsessed with the castles and towns of the Czech countryside. No matter how much time you’ll have in the country, we help you get the best out of it.

Best time to visit the Czech Republic

Czechia has four seasons. Summers are mild and humid, with occasional hot-spells, winters are cold, cloudy and humid.

Jun-Aug

HIGH SEASON

School breaks and holidays make summer the busiest season. While we don’t really recommend a visit to overcrowded Prague this time, we love the warm days – of which there are much less in any other season.

April – May & Sept – Oct

SHOULDER SEASON

Weather is fairly good, though it can be quite chilly and unpredictable. The number of visitors is surely lower than in summer. This could be a good time for sightseeing and hiking.

Nov – March

LOW SEASON

Cold and often colorless (snowless) winter is low season, but it could be the time for a cheap sightseeing getaway to Prague.

The best things to see and do in Prague

The most popular and touristy Czech city, and one of the most stunning European capitals. Prague offers a lot! Having visited both in summer and winter, we have lots of tips about what to see and do:

Best of the Czech countryside

We like the Czech countryside even more than Prague, and considering our love for Prague, that’s saying a lot. If you think fairy tale castles exist only in the Loire Valley of France, come and explore the castles of the Czech countryside. If you think you’ve seen the most amazing old town in Czechia when you visited Prague, go to Český Krumlov, and you’ll be proven wrong.

We’ve collected some of the best cultural and natural experiences beyond Prague for you:

Follow our current adventures

We’ve been travelling together for more than 8 years, and our baby boy who was born last year also joined us on our adventures. We have extensively travelled throughout Europe and the USA, especially California. We’ve had a wonderful campervan trip in Australia where we dream to return.

We will continue to explore Europe, but we’d also like to visit more places in the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Asia in the following years.

We can’t wait to share our favorite adventures along the way.
