Vienna is a city we visit each year at least once. We like spending a romantic weekend there, and we usually explore something new in the area each time. Our favorite new finding this spring was Baden bei Wien. It’s a lovely little town southwest of Vienna and it’s a perfect half day romantic getaway!
It’s neat and pretty and full of flowers like most of the small towns in Austria.
It amazes with 19th-century Biedermeier architecture and picturesque walking streets.
The Main Square (Hauptplatz) with the City Hall (Rathaus) and the Trinity Column plague memorial is the place to sit down with an ice-cream in hand and just enjoy the vibe.
A walk in Kurpark is like travelling back in time.
It’s also full of flowers.
The gorgeous building of Casino Baden was originally built as a spa, but later it became a casino.
There’s a rose festival in Doblhoff Park every spring. It means exactly what you think it does: the park is full of roses!
