Noticing the first spring flowers is always a joyful event for us. Not just because I like photographing flowers, but also because the best part of the year for us starts with these flowers. I don’t know about you, but we don’t really like winter here in Hungary. Some of the snowy days could be nice, but we usually don’t see much snow, especially not in Budapest. So winter usually means overcast skies, cold temperatures and a grey, colorless landscape.
It changes with the first buds and flowers, then with the blossoming trees in March and April. Days get longer and sunnier, our seasonal forests get green, and finally we feel like spending time outdoors instead of just watching movies and drinking hot chocolate at home. 😛
In Hungary one of the first flowers to bloom are snowdrops.
On the other hand, pasqueflowers are our early spring favorites. We found lots of them this spring, too, when hiking in the Buda Hills.
But we don’t even need to go hiking to see flowers, our cities are full of blossoming trees this time of the year.
Anyway, the reason I’m writing this post is simple: I like spring, flowers are beautiful, and I’d like to share the joy.
All those vibrant purples and blues…
