Visiting Kauai, Hawaii’s ‘garden island’ was like getting a little piece of heaven on Earth! We were blown away by its stunning beaches, wild coastline, rich marine life and we were truly amazed how unspoiled this island is.
Oh, and the sunsets! No day passed without us sitting or walking on a beach and watching the sunset. Just thinking back of these moments fills us with that peaceful satisfaction we felt there. And we’d like to share it with you through our favorite sunset pictures.
Hanalei Bay’s pier is probably the most romantic place to watch the sunset. It’s facing rather north than west, but still you can catch an almost perfect sunset.
And actually, how funny: all of our favorite sunset photos are from northern or southern beaches.
Shades of palm trees in front of the pink sky and a lot of surfers in the golden waves of the sunset… Poipu Beach is popular for a good reason. Not much chance for a private sunset though.
The hidden Anini Beach with its calm and perfectly blue water is memorable to us because of its peaceful sunset, too. Almost no one on the beach, only the two of us watching the sunset and the humpback whales jumping in and out of the water in the distance.
Salt Pond Beach
Our sunset on Salt Pond Beach was quite cloudy, but still we enjoyed those pink and purple colors!
What about you? Any memorable sunsets?
